In renewable energy: entities deemed technically and financially capable to serve/take over existing NPC-SPUG areas [Section 12, RE Act of 2008]
Note: Section 12 of the RE Act also states that “[w]ithin one (1) year from the effectivity of this Act, NPC-SPUG or its successors-in-interest and/or qualified third parties in off-grid areas shall, in the performance of its mandate to provide missionary electrification, source a minimum percentage of its total annual generation upon recommendation of the NREB from available RE resources in the area concerned, as may be determined by the DOE”. This term is not included in the definitions section of the RE Act (Section 4).
